Pause for thought
Paul’s plan to visit the Corinthians was not according to his own mind nor was he uncertain or frivolously changing his plans to suit himself. The plan to visit Corinth at that time was postponed because of Paul’s commitment to the Gospel and his loving concern for their welfare ( Paul did not want another painful visit) so Paul was led by the Holy Spirit to postpone his visit and to write explaining his reasons for the delay 1:17.
Paul was accused of being double minded because of his change of plan and some of his detractors questioned if the gospel he preached was also subject to change. But Paul assures them and us that every promise of God in Jesus are always Yes to the Glory of God this is the Gospel Paul preached and we believe.
Every promise to us are yes in Jesus Christ. Never yes and no, our response is Amen to Every promise of God through Christ 1:19-20
The fact that from the moment we believed in Jesus Christ we were established, anointed, and sealed with the Holy Spirit is the evidence and guarantee that we are saved and belong to God, when God says yes that is exactly what He means 1:22
Memory verse
He has identified us as His own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first instalment of everything He will give us. 2 Corinthians 1:22 N.L.T.
